As I was rushing to get to work the other day, I parked at a meter near the front entrance of my workplace. Then as I was fumbling trying to find some quarters from my purse, I noticed a couple standing nearby sort of watching me. I was wondering whether they were just "people watching" or quietly commenting among each other about me dropping quarters to the ground.
I approached my building, and the woman was still watching me. Then, she said, "I just love the coat you are wearing!" with such enthusiasm. Then, the man says, "yeah she's been commenting on the color of your coat since you got out of your car."
We chatted for a bit and she explained that when sees a woman who looks stylish, she always makes it a point to tell the woman. Turns out, she was also in the image consulting business. I returned the compliment to her for how great she looked. It turns out she is also the mother of five children! We exchanged information and I plan to reconnect with her very soon.
There I was in a hurry and focused on what I needed to get done that morning and was met with a nice compliment from a woman I didn't know. I was reminded that it's worth taking the time to tell a woman that she looks great even if you don't feel that way yourself at the moment. It'll make her day.
I found the Rampage fuchsia sateen trench coat that I was wearing so I'll share. It was on sale when I got it in the Spring, and the bold color attracted me to the look. Don't be afraid of color in the fall/ winter. It's bold, daring and a definite way to fashionably stand out.
